PLAN-B NET ZERO gewinnt zweiten PaaS-Kunden

Gespräche mit Gesundheitsbranche laufen

Energy provider PLAN-B NET ZERO is pushing ahead with the expansion of its platform business. The company announced that it has acquired another customer for its  Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering  , which allows companies to outsource parts of their customer processes to the company's own technology infrastructure (Business Process Outsourcing, or BPO). The first customer of this model is from the energy sector and has been using the platform for over a year. The new customer comes from the same sector.

More noteworthy is a second development announced by the company in  the same press release  : According to the company, contract negotiations with an international company in the health and longevity sector are at an advanced stage. Should this cooperation come to fruition, it would be PLAN-B NET ZERO's first PaaS customer outside the traditional energy industry, signaling the company's intention to increasingly position its technology across various sectors.

From electricity bills to digital infrastructure
Since its founding in 2023, PLAN-B NET ZERO has not seen itself as a traditional electricity provider, but rather positions itself under the self-coined term "Neo Energy" as a provider of a new category in the European energy market. The idea behind this is to link energy supply with digital technology, control, and platform solutions – an approach the company itself compares to the digital transformation of the financial sector.

According to PLAN-B NET ZERO, its PaaS business fits seamlessly into this self-conception. Instead of treating the offering as purely operational outsourcing, it is described as part  of the broader Neo-Energy approach  . Through the platform, the company provides partners with technological infrastructure and operational process expertise, enabling them to manage their own customer processes without having to build the underlying technology themselves. For PLAN-B NET ZERO, this creates an additional revenue stream alongside its core electricity customer business.

Bradley Mundt, founder and CEO of the company, puts the move into strategic terms. He explains that they are deliberately opening up the technology platform to additional partners, thereby expanding the Neo-Energy model beyond their own electricity customer business. Crucially, he emphasizes, the additional operational reach is not the only factor, but also the strategic impact, as he puts it: "Every new connection strengthens the platform." Each additional connection expands the potential user and partner network and simultaneously improves the foundation for additional digital revenue streams, Mundt continues.

Health & Longevity as a potential new market
PLAN-B NET ZERO views the fact that the healthcare sector, for the first time an industry outside the energy sector, has entered into advanced discussions as proof that its platform can be used beyond the energy market. Health and longevity is considered a market with high digitalization potential  and pronounced international scalability, two characteristics that, according to the company, fit well with its growth strategy.

As things stand, a contract has not yet been finalized, and PLAN-B NET ZERO has not provided any information on when a decision is expected. For a company that explicitly describes its technological infrastructure as applicable across industries, a first customer outside the energy sector would nevertheless be a remarkable step in its expansion history, particularly because it would demonstrate that the platform model is not limited to related industries.

Growth since the realignment in 2023
According to its own figures,  PLAN-B NET ZERO has  built a user base of around 115,000 platform users since its strategic realignment in 2023, of whom approximately half are its own electricity customers (as of June 30, 2026). The annual recurring revenue (ARR) is reportedly more than €60 million. The company claims that this growth is faster than most other providers in the German-speaking energy market, an assessment naturally based on its own figures.
The expansion of its PaaS business coincides with a phase in which PLAN-B NET ZERO is visibly attempting to diversify its business model: away from its sole reliance on the electricity sector and towards a platform that, according to its own description, combines energy supply, digital customer interaction, and data-driven processes in a shared architecture. This announcement alone does not yet prove this. Only an actual contract signing with the healthcare company would provide clarity, as would the question of whether other sectors will follow suit.
